Sorry for the Delay in Posting.bad news

I got the word about two hours ago that the other squadron is heading back to iraq and we arent. WOW...That would have been four times that my feet have touched down in iraq. I am glad that i didnt go, but im.... sad that im not going. Its a mixed emotion. Iraq has a part of me. In a sick and twisted kinda way iraq is/ and was home. I will never ever be able to get the time in iraq back. So we(squadron) look at it like it was a home. Now some guys will be going home today to tell there families that they will be gone for at least 180 days so that the other guys who havent had a break will at least have a six month break from iraq. Even the best of the best get bogged down. We also get tired..People think that we are military robots. We are people too. Just trained to do the unthinkable sometimes. When i think about it, i have done alot for this country. Not just me, but alot of people. I can remember that i was in a relationship with someone once, and the conversation was like this...

Me: Hey i have some news to tell you.
Her: What? You bought me a present!
Me: Not exactly. I gotta go.
Her: Where are you going? Whats going on?
Me: I cant say where im going.
Her: When will you be back?
Me: I cant say that either. I will call you when i can.

It takes alot to just make it through that. alot of people dont understand that military families and friends go through alot. they are warriors too. They have to keep families running, take care of kids, deal with fights. They are single parents in a one parent household. If it wasnt for them, we couldnt do our job.

Also in other news, my friend the Pararescue Trooper is going through turmoil. His mother has disowned him in a way because his last two girlfriends have been non white. He has the sweetest girlfriend in the world. She is about 5'7 pretty brown skin and some very mystical eyes. She has a set of eyes that are hazel like but they are so pretty that you just cant quit looking at them. She is corn bread fed as he likes to call her. She cooks, cleans, she has a degree or two..she is involved in church and his mother doesnt like the girl because she isnt white. So he and his mother got into a very heated arguement and he stood his ground. He defended his actions and he defended his girlfriend. he told her that he was not gonna leave her unless he wanted to. The sad part of this is that his father and the rest of the family is ok with it. So now you have a guy who cherished his mother as a kid not even speaking to her. I have to say that i admire him for standing up for what he believes in, and i guess sometimes you have to pay a price to stand up for what you beliueve in. I guess that is what makes him such an avid guy to have next to your side in a firefight or just a guy thats cool enough to sit down with and have alot of drinks and beer. Life is a bitch... :/

Wel we are heading back to Louisiana with all of our stuff packed soon. We are gonna get some more training and then i think we are going Georgia!!!! I cant wait! We are gonna be going to Valdosta Ga. Its gonna be awesome... Well if everything goes ok it will. Our outcome of what we do depends on if Aerial Sharon Pulls through or not. If he doesnt pull through, the outcome of the U.S. will change forever and well... i cant say what i want to say, but if you guys know anything about the Israelis and Palestinins then you know what i mean..if you dont, please google it and you will understand...

Well i gotta head out we are going shop in mckinney. I have become the Gift Card KING!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA See ya laters...

If you really want to go, can't you volunteer? My cousin is based in La and was or is soon to be shipping out again for the 3rd time. He was "told" to go once and volunteered the other two times. The hot UPS guy that you've heard me ramble on about is shipping out on Monday w/ the rest of the guys from Ft McCoy in WI for about 7 months.

As for your friend-- good for him for sticking up to his mom!!! More people should be more like him! If he really likes/loves this girl, hopefully his mom will come around in time. I don't believe in discrimination. It's what a person is and has inside that counts as far as I'm concerned.

Valdosta is where James took his first six months of flight training...there at Moody AFB. It's such a small world, really, when one thinks about it.

I'm sad about the mother/son relationship. It sounds like he is well into adulthood so she should let him alone. Now, there's all this rancor there. She doesn't need that and he certainly doesn't need that kind of junk going on.

It is hard for people who have had no association with the military to grasp what it is like to have to hold down the fort without knowing too many details. But, if the wife is worth her weight in gold then she will do her part with pride and honor, nuturing their family and holding it together until he comes home.

Thanks for dropping in to visit today. Did you pick up any of those homemade chocolate chip cookies on the way out the door? ;)

wow... sometimes we just don't know what you troops really go thru unless you experience it first hand from someone close to you. Yes, we know you suffer for this country but we really never know the depth of everything you guys are experiencing out there. And yes, many times we take it for granted that you guys are out there for us..... Thanks for all you do.
